I became a therapist because I have a lifelong interest in personal development, relationships, and the meaning of life. I’ve been working as a therapist for 16 years.
I have been happily married for 20 years. I’m a dad. I have been meditating for most of my adult life. I am a seeker of truth.
I’ve tried to live my life with compassion and courage. I’ve learned much about life along the way. Learning never stops. I bring all my experience to my work as a therapist.
Education
I am a Licensed Psychologist.I also have taught a course at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine in positive psychology. I have a doctorate degree and attended Hamilton College and the University of Pennsylvania.
Before I started practicing full time I worked in the creative arts. I was a writer of fiction, ran TV programs and was a producer at 60 Minutes. Many of my clients are from the creative world. I understand it well.
What Kind of Therapist Am I?
I start by setting goals with my clients. Where do you want to get to? How can I help? We set bench posts so we can check on whether you’re making the progress you want. I don’t think therapy should take a long time. You should see positive changes very soon.
I guide couples towards expressing unspoken feelings, examining learned behaviors, and developing strategies for living a connected, fulfilling and compassionate life
I think therapy should be compelling, revelatory, and enjoyable. I believe it should be an experience that clients look forward to.
We’ll talk and muse and exchange ideas and discover insights that you can put to work.
